FAQS

Do you use ai to edit?

No, I will never use AI to edit your work or submit your manuscript to a large language model (LLM). In fact, all my contracts include an anti-AI clause to protect your privacy and creative rights.

what’s the turnaround time for your services?

Developmental and line edits usually take around 4-8 weeks, while manuscript evaluations typically take 2 weeks. However, the exact turnaround time depends on your manuscript and is determined on a case-by-case basis. I’m always happy to discuss your project’s timeline and find an option that works for you!

Do you provide SAMPLES for developmental edits and manuscript evaluations?

Yes, you can request a sample edit of your first chapter. Just bear in mind that my feedback may change once I see it in the context of your entire manuscript.

If, on the other hand, you’d like to get a general sense of what my big-picture feedback looks like without scheduling a sample edit, I’d be delighted to share an excerpt from a previous editorial letter (with the author’s permission, of course).

Do you provide SAMPLES for line edits?

Yes, you can request a sample line edit of 1000 words of your manuscript for free! I’ll usually get back to you within a week.

How Do I reserve an editing spot?

It’s generally recommended that you reserve as far in advance as possible, as these spots fill up quickly.

You can inform me of your intention to schedule an edit in several ways:

  1. Via the free “Discovery Call”

  2. Via email at: noumenonedits@gmail.com

  3. Via the contact form on this website

DO YOU provide EDITING SERVICES IN SPANISH?

Yes, I offer editing services in both English and Spanish! I’m actually a bilingual native speaker and have completed Philosophy degrees in both languages (my BA was in Spanish and my MA in English). Just let me know which language you’re most comfortable with!

Are there discounts for returning clients?

If you’re working on a series and I’ve provided a developmental edit for the first book, you’ll receive a 10% discount on editing services for any subsequent instalment in the series. This is my way of celebrating our editorial partnership!

Can I see your qualifications?

Absolutely! I’m happy to provide copies of all my certificates/degrees on request. Most include a code you can use to verify the credential online.

what file formats do you accept?

I prefer working with Microsoft Word files as Word includes “Track Changes” and “Sidebar Comment” features that make it easy for me to annotate your manuscript and keep my feedback clear and organised.

Do you provide clients with an editing contract?

Yes, of course! I’ll send the document over one month before your reserved start date. Before we sign, we’ll discuss all relevant details, including payment plans and editing timelines. I aim to ensure that every part of the process is fully transparent.

Are there payment plans?

Yes, we can chat about setting up a payment plan that works for you when we’re discussing the contract.

Do you send authors progress updates while you’re editing?

Yes, you can expect a short progress update every week that I’m working on your novel! Nothing fancy, just a short summary of where I’m at and some live reactions to your writing.
