FAQS
Do you use ai to edit?
No, I will never use AI to edit your work or submit your manuscript to a large language model (LLM). In fact, all my contracts include an anti-AI clause to protect your privacy and creative rights.
what’s the turnaround time for your services?
Developmental and line edits usually take about 4-6 weeks, while manuscript evaluations typically take 2 weeks. However, the exact turnaround time depends on your manuscript and is determined on a case-by-case basis. I’m always happy to discuss your project’s timeline and find an option that works for you!
Do you provide SAMPLES for developmental edits and manuscript evaluations?
Yes, you can request a sample edit of your first chapter for a small fee (which will be deducted from the total if you decide to move forward with a full edit). Just bear in mind that my feedback on your first chapter may change once I see it in the context of your entire manuscript.
If, on the other hand, you’d like to get a general sense of what my big-picture feedback looks like without scheduling a sample edit, I’d be delighted to share an excerpt from a previous editorial letter (with the author’s permission, of course).
Do you provide SAMPLES for line edits?
Yes, you can request a sample line edit of 1000 words of your manuscript for free! I’ll usually get back to you within a week.
DO YOU provide EDITING SERVICES IN SPANISH?
Yes, I offer editing services in both English and Spanish! I’m actually a bilingual native speaker and have completed Philosophy degrees in both languages (my BA was in Spanish and my MA in English). Just let me know which language you’re most comfortable with!
Are there discounts for returning clients?
If you’re working on a series and I’ve provided a developmental edit for the first book, you’ll receive a 10% discount on editing services for any subsequent instalment in the series. This is my way of supporting your ongoing creative journey and celebrating our editorial partnership!
Can I see your qualifications?
Absolutely! I’m happy to provide copies of all my certificates/degrees on request. Most include a code you can use to verify the credential online.
what file formats do you accept?
I prefer working with Microsoft Word files as Word includes a “Sidebar Comment” feature that makes it easy for me to annotate your manuscript and keep my feedback clear and organised.
